Liese Hair Cocktail Lite Review

I've bought this product ages ago and i wanted to test it long enough before i reviewed it.Here's what i think of it.

Packaging:

Simple clear box with enough English instructions at the back. You can tell it's a moisturizing hair serum from the smaller print cos hair cocktail just doesn't make any sense. Hey wait a minute, i think i get it. It's a drink for your hair.OK corny.

Price: RM 32. Still affordable.

Scent: A nice mixture of prune and peach. I know.. prune? But trust me it's surprisingly nice. Not overwhelmingly strong. Will not trigger allergy in sensitive nosed husband.

How to use :

I bet you didn't bother reading. Anyway this video is more effective in conveying how to use it.

Cautions and ingredients: Refer to picture below.

Verdict: It nourishes my hair and leaves no sticky feeling on my hair..only on my hands. It's a good idea to wash it off your hands once you're done transferring it to your hair.My hair feels soft and manageable after using it.The scent is nice too.. BUT.... it does nothing for my flyaway strands of hair! It's still frizzy and flying away.

Would i repurchase this: Only if there are no newer products to try.I wanna find something that can tame my pesky fly away strands of hair!

More and Como March 2011

More March 2011 comes with 3 matching pouches from Banner Barrett.
Yeah i know. What brand is that right? But the 3 matching pouches are cute!

You can see the dimensions of each pouch from the picture. The prints are lovely, all the pouches have different coloured zippers and they are all labeled with the brand name. They are all made of polyester satin.

Judging from real product photos, the material looks sturdy but the interior looks prone to be dirtied as it is white. The seams are as usual not piped, so it's important not to put too many things in the pouch as only one layer of stitching is holding the pouch.

It does look handy as a make up case, pencil box or eye-wear holder though.

Como 2011 Mach issue comes with a Jill Stuart multi case! It is not unlike the many multi cases given out by Japanese Magazines recently. The only difference is that it is Jill Stuart.

It is made of polyester and the size is 20 x 13 cm. The polyester seems to be coated with a thin pvc so it water resistant to a certain extent. It has 6 slots to put cards and a large mesh compartment as well as a small flap where u can clip a pen.

The cover is a lovely light pink with floral details while the interior is yellow. What i don't like about it though is how the zip sticks out.

I'm gonna wait patiently for the new mooks and give these a miss.

Growing old

I am growing old. I try to deny this fact everyday but the clues pointing to the obvious are there. My frowns lines are getting deeper by the day. I am starting to nag, and i find myself repeating instructions to my nurses and patients more than 2 times for fear that they might not have heard it clearly. And the latest clincher just brought me to reality. The molar adjacent to my extracted right wisdom tooth is starting to feel shaky.

Either the dentist who extracted my tooth did a really good job at damaging the adjacent tooth, or, the awkwardly growing wisdom tooth had damaged the nerve roots of its neighboring tooth as it grew.I think it's more of the latter but i still blame the said dentist for postponing my tooth extraction. Plus he promised to extract my other wisdom tooth but left before he could fulfil his promise. So one year later my left wisdom tooth is still in place probably damaging the neighboring tooth as we speak.

Sigh.

Things are starting to break down and it's gonna be hard to fix it.

The earlier you extract your wisdom tooth the better. Take a leaf from me.

Of mags and mooks

i can't wait to see what the new LeSport Sac 2011 Mook looks like. It comes in 3 styles and will be launched in Japan in March.

These are the Le Sport Sac goodies over the last few years.

2009

I hope the Gelato Pique Spring Summer 2011 mook will live up to the 2010 one.

 Benchmark:

The autumn winter one was pretty abysmal.

The winter one was cute but not functional.

In the meantime here are some things to look forward to.

Top of the pack is Inred which comes with a Paul and Joe multicase.

Steady March 2011  comes with 3  Peanuts pouches.

Beautiful deception

Further proof that there are no ugly girls in this world only lazy ones.

I really do not understand how anyone can possibly be 'ugly' in a world where beauty products are so advanced and innovative it can rival NASA.

For the guys, take a look and weep. Not all hot girls are pretty girls ok?

Liberty Print 2011 Spring Summer Mook (Tatum and Poppy & Daisy)

This is the one mook that many people have been waiting for. And finally i see the pictures on Rakuten.
Honestly, the prints are gorgeous, but I am very underwhelmed by the tiny tote bags. What do you think?

Poppy & Daisy

Tatum print.

No doubt the prints are gorgeous but i have no idea what I'd do with more tiny hand carry bags.Hmm to carry mandarin oranges and ang pow come Chinese New Year?

Spring March comes with Milkfed tote and pass holder. Another uninspiring gift.

While Sweet fares slightly better with a 2 way ( look at the picture on the cover) Snidel tote.

JJ Lin's girlfriend

I've always wondered about the personal lives of celebrities. But then again i don't want to have paparazzo tailing them and messing with their lives. Thus it is with totally unintentional intentions that i stumbled upon this video clip of JJ Lin's alleged We Bo (Chinese version of Twitter) fight back of a fan who dissed his alleged new girlfriend.

This rather weak headline based on JJ's Wei Bo tweet highlighted how every part of a celebrity's life is exploited to pad the evening news.

Just because he defends the girl (with just a few simple words) when his fan dissed the girl and her mother (double blow) for being ugly, it becomes fodder for news?

That's just sad.

Which led me to another video of them caught shopping together.

You mean celebs can't even go shopping with their female friends? Romantically involved or otherwise?

I love how he just gave a 'duh' blank expression to the overly nosy and thoroughly irritating reporter!Yet he had to be polite and not just whip out the finger.

It's just so great how western artists can be so open about their love lives heterogenous or otherwise, yet eastern artists are constantly in fear of losing their fan base once their love lives come out in the public.

Come on fans! Grow up!

Break-up

Break-ups are an essential part of life. As a kid it was all about crushes. As a teen it was about whether we would meet the ONE. Young adulthood was about finding out there is no 'THE ONE' and there is such a thing called break-ups. Everyone who got together eventually broke up in the end. There was rarely anyone who actually married their first girlfriend/boyfriend.

Which made a lot of sense since it would be ridiculous for my 18 year old self to make a decision that would dictate the rest of my life.

At that turbulent point in time relationship dramas became reality all around me. Hook-ups, break-us, flings, revenge, betrayal, you name it. It was then that i realized that TV dramas are just a slight exaggeration of the real blockbuster called life.I could direct a film from all the material i garnered from my friends at school.

I am thankful i was able to partake in the eye-opening events that revealed what i had suspected for a while now. I live a really sheltered life.

I am also very thankful to have experience this thing called The Break-up. I've only had it once. Yet it seems to be happening all around me still. Even with all the weddings going on, there are the odd divorces you hear in the recent newly weds.I cannot phantom what it feels like being a divorcee but i do know how painful it must feel to not be loved anymore by the very person that was once the most important person in your life.

I still remember the days of how lonely and heart-broken i felt a long time ago. How every love song seemed to sting in the heart and cause my heart to sink all the way into my stomach. It was really necessary for me to go through that phase. Without a bit of the sour how would i know what is sweet?

Anyway after my long winded ramblings, what i really want to talk about is break up songs. These are my favourite kind as it resonates and touches that spot in your heart where everything comes to a standstill and you find yourself stopping in your tracks and rewinding all the lyrics in your mind while all the flashbacks from the past go through your mind.

Those kind of songs! Though u have no flashbacks of my previous relationship anymore, what i do have are flashbacks of a lonely old me sitting alone in my room ans staring into space. Or crying. Which only goes to show (i think) i love myself more than that sorry excuse for a boyfriend.

I am thankful to have a ridiculously stable and still in love relationship. But i still enjoy the odd love ballad and these are my picks for the best break up songs i know. (Most of them are in Mandarin probably because Chinese people are really emo and can weave really 'cheem' lyrics out of love or the lack of it.)

Here they are in no particular order (except i admit i reserved my favorite for number one). Just listen to the music cos most of the MV's are just stills of the singers faces anyway.

10.Ai Xiao De Yan Jing (Eyes that love to smile) - Vivian Hsu/ JJ Lin

Vivian is the original singer but i put up the JJ version cos it had really good translations. Plus he seems to emote better. But i must say Vivian wrote really relatable lyrics.

9.Shuo Le Zhai Jian (Saying goodbye)- Jay Chou

This was the number one song in 2010! According to Singaporeans anyway and i can see why.

8.Xin Dong (Tempting heart?)- Shino Lin

I think Takeshi Kaneshiro has something to do about this song being more accessible.

7. Wu Mian -Sodagreen

This is a really touching song which i frankly hardly know the meaning but the melody just sells it.

6. Wo Bu Nan Guo (I'm not sad) -Sun Yan Zi

I miss Sun Yan Zi!

5.Diao Le (Fallen) - A-Mei

4. Ta Shuo (She says)- JJ Lin

3. Ji De (Remember) - A-mei (Composed by JJ Lin and there are two equally good versions of this song by him as well, but i figured it would be best to show the original)

Hmm.. heck it i will make this post even more long-winded and include his version as well. The latest version.

And the version when he was a newbie with really awkward lyrics.

2.Fen Shou Kuai Le (Happy Break-up) - Fish Leong

1. An Jing (Silence) -Jay Chou

*claps claps claps* This song came out at just the right time and became somewhat of a break-up anthem then. Every bit of the lyrics i know by heart! Ahh.. those were the days.

Wow~ that's a lot of videos.

Break-up songs don't do anything for me now nowadays but for those going through a break-up i'm sure it helps to pull you through somehow.

Here's to sunshine after the rain.

What's your break-up song?

Even more Daiso nonsence

I cannot stop myself from going in. But the good news is the number of purchases are now significantly less just because i've bought most of the stuff there already anyway.

This was one of my buys in Daiso Taiwan ( yes even when overseas still have to visit Daiso). The only reason i bought it was that the apartment where we stayed in had a bathtub and it's always good to have a nice soak in a country of reasonably cool climate. The ironic thing was i only managed to use it recently while i was staying in Renaissance Kota Bahru which was of equally cool climate for me. It was raining 24/7!

Cherry blossom bath salts. And yes it turn the bath water pink!

There are 3  sachets inside but i only used one. The colour got significantly lighter when the bath tub was full. And the scent was rather mild but still noticeable. All i remembered was that i had a great and relaxing soak . I wish i had a bath tub but cleaning it will be such a chore oh my gosh i am so fickle.

I only bought 3 products on a recent trip yeah! Clear bowl for mixing my baking stuff/ soak vegetables. Tiny plastic pots to store samples. And an eyebrow pencil which actually gives a really nice grip and control but the brush thing at the end of it was rubbish.

And i have discovered a new found love for the cooking and baking section where i got a handy measuring cup and steamer. Unfortunately i failed to release the diameter of my pot is smaller than the steamer -_-. The other half are eye products mainly really great repurchased again partial lashes which are made in China (almost everything is), eyelash glue and some lousy eyebrow drawing template. I seriously urge you not to buy it. Everyone has their own unique eyebrow shape which cannot be defined by a single template.

Now tell me why is Daiso cheaper in Singapore?

Cutie January 2011 with HBG tote

As mentioned earlier, i must have taken my own advice and bought the magazine. This was after thoughtful deliberation and many longing views at other webpages reviewing this particular bag. And after so long it was still there in Kinokinuya looking at me. And it seems to be saying "Buy me!"

And buy it i did.

It was as expected rather small but nevertheless really cute and a worthy buy. No regrets here.

Here's the cover. Does this girl not remind you of that Little Swallow Princess Vicky Zhao Wei?

The price is fairly reasonable and i had a 10 % discount thanks to Jh's Isetan card.

The bag is black with cute neon coloured landmarks from around the world.

The gift box is similarly themed.

But it's really tiny.

Cos the bag is tiny too.. luckily for me then that i too am tiny. It comes with a button closure, three pockets on the outside and gold brand tag.

I just love it for the cute merlion. At least South East Asia is represented.

The insides are fully lined and seams are covered up with purple piping.

I love this bag BUT i would love it even more if the piping did not stick out at the sides! It irritates me no end but i try not to look at it.

All in all it's a cute one of a kind (over here anyway) bag to bring out.

This comes in the February issue of Cutie. Definitely giving this a skip.

Penang Peranakan Mansion Wedding

I attended a totally unique wedding lately and i have to share this with you. A wedding in The Penang Peranakan Mansion. And when i say mansion , i really do mean mansion. It was amazingly gorgeous and a truly special wedding . Kudos to the happy couple as well as the hard laboring people behind the scenes! We had a blast!

It's a shame i don't get to see my cousins more often. We seldom get a chance to talk to each other but somehow it's easy to talk to them.

Here are some pictures from the event.

Gorgeous antique interior that cannot be replicated.( Unless you're super rich)

Hmm.. we actually look alike..

A wedding in a museum. I mean what if we damaged something or decided to nick some souvenirs home?

Old school Ponds.

Door gift similarly themed.

We were garbed in traditional attire cos how often can we bring these clothes out to wear anyway?

It's like having four balcony's looking down into the interior of your own house!

Awe struck gorgeous. (Wtf i can't even assemble a proper sentence.)

The people we have to thank for this lovely sight.

Ornate, delicate and you need a maid to clean this.

I think i just ran out of superlatives.

They managed to fit in over 20 tables.

And washing basin also have to be so 'chio'!

My darling cousins and one flame haired unknown person.

This was the site for many dramas and movies but i only recognized 'The Little Nyonya.'

Here's a clip to show exactly where they filmed.

It's open to the public at a price of RM 10 or something cheap like that. You can arrange for a guided tour too if you come in a group or 5 or more.

Here's the site for more details.

I really have to go to the Blue Mansion next.
